The Nixon School Of Dance & Performing Arts opened its doors on 4th March 1994!

A free taster class was held in The Sands Centre, Carlisle where 20 children attended. 12 weeks later a summer concert was held in The Sands Centre which was a huge success.

Since then there have been numerous shows, cabarets and members of the dance school have taken part in several pantomimes both amateur and professional.

All types of stage dancing is taught and the school take examinations annually with a 100% pass rate. Its a very friendly laid back atmosphere and everyone works well together as part of a team.

It is also home to Carlisle United's official cheerleaders "The Nixon Vixens", who have been cheering down at C.U.F.C for four seasons now.
We do alot of work for charity and also work closely with the disabled and children with special needs.

All classes are held in our new studio located at 1A Finkle Street.

The Dance School is owned and run by Amanda Nixon A.N.C.D.T.A.

The types of dancing which are taught (under the Northern Counties Dance Teachers Association Syllabus) consist of:
Ballet, Tap, Modern Stage, National, Disco Freestyle, Song and Dance, Cheerleading, Speech and Drama, Performing Arts, Adult Tap, Acrobatic and Gymnastic Dance.
